Delegate Selection Process Begins for State and National Democratic Conventions in Springfield, MO


Springfield – The Greene County Democratic Central Committee will host a county-wide mass meeting on Monday, April 6, 2020, 7:30 p.m., at the Teamsters Union Hall located at 1850 E Division Street in Springfield to begin the process of electing delegates to the State and National Democratic Conventions.  Participation is open to all voters who reside and are registered to vote in Greene County that want to participate as Democrats and who voted in the in the March 10th Presidential Preference Primary Election. To encourage participation by youth in the delegate selection process, any individual who will have turned 18 by the date of the general election will be allowed to participate.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for check-in.  Bring a valid form of identification, the same as you would to vote on Election Day.  You must be checked in, or in line, by 7:30 p.m. to participate.

Eligible participants will caucus to elect Presidential preferential delegates to the Congressional and State Democratic Conventions. Delegates will be apportioned to Presidential candidates based on the results of the March 10 Primary Election.  For those interested in becoming DNC Electors, or delegates to the National Convention, participation in the Democratic 7th Congressional District Convention (April 30th in Springfield) and the Missouri Democratic State Convention (June 20th in Kansas City), is required.
